The basic optical principles of Fiber Laser Welding Head include three parts: Laser beam collimation, Laser beam reflection, and beam focusing, as shown in the following figure. After the laser beam is emitted from QBH, it becomes parallel light through the collimator, and then reflects back to the focusing mirror, finally focusing on the surface of the workpiece.
The light coming out of the optical fiber of QBH is a point light source with a certain divergence angle. During propagation, it will spread out in a conical shape to the front, such as turning on a flashlight or lighting a match in the dark.
The function of a collimator is to transform this divergent beam of light into parallel light, allowing it to propagate along a straight line without deviation; Simultaneously control the waist radius of the beam to limit it to a narrow welding head path.
The function of a focusing mirror is to concentrate parallel beams of light together, forming a very small spot of light, thereby generating an ultra strong energy density.
